Horrendous mismanagement and total lack of communication. From the beginning we were given a checklist of things we needed to complete on our end. We left the time sensitive item for last so we could actually begin the in vitro process without any issues, then right before we were all set we got messaged that we had one more consultation we had to do first. One that definitely wasnt time sensitive. We called to ask if we could forgo or delay it while we started the in vitro process and we got no response. We called again a few days later, then twice the following week, never received a call back. We tried the online portal next, got a promise someone would follow up, nobody did so I messaged them and I was given the same promise. My wife finally drove over to their location and when she was able to speak to someone their response was Oh sorry, actually were closing. A momentous waste of time. The lack of follow up is downright disrespectful, if you cant give service to people dont leave them hanging for weeks with empty promises!

If you dont care about being treated as an individual with unique needs, this might be a great place for you. I say that without sarcasm. We, on the other hand, had a pretty terrible experience here. The facilities seemed great, from my limited experience, but Kindbody really lacked in patient care (ironic!). The staff do not have the patience to treat you as an individual. We needed quite a bit more: Explanation of the process and costs (we still dont know!), empathy, communication (it was a very frustrating experience to try to get ahold of someone). Infertility and treatment is a very difficult journey to begin with, one that should be met with empathy and consideration, and having a medical team that doesnt show up in this way makes it 100 times worse. I felt like I was seen as a problem patient, just because I was trying to get answers about next steps or an explanation as to what was happening. (My partner says, They act like youre crazy just for asking questions.) There isnt a local doctor at this clinic. They fly one in once a month to do procedures. This may give you some indication of their availability, or lack thereof. The phlebotomist we saw was great. And one RN, who we only knew virtually because she lived elsewhere, was compassionate, but pretty unavailable. Weve been assured by a naturopath specializing in fertility, that we would receive far better patient care at another local fertility clinic, so that is our next step. Fingers crossed.

I have been sitting on this review for some time as my husband and I received fertility care through kindbody just shy of 11 months. I truly hope you take into consideration the one star reviews at this location prior to pursuing fertility treatment through kindbody. As a healthcare worker myself, I am baffled at the lack of patient center care received at this clinic. There is a severe lack of communication on time sensitive issues, appointments, and medications sent to pharmacies. They have made it nearly impossible to get ahold of an actual human at the clinic and when attempting, you receive a person from a regional call center who can’t answer any of your questions. Additionally Kindbody has shown little to no empathy or compassion when going through hard procedures/ circumstances. During our ectopic pregnancy not one person from the clinic reached out with support or empathy, instead every interaction was met with a transactional approach for next steps and charges. Interestingly enough when I had lists of questions I was never given to opportunity to speak with Dr. Adam’s regarding my care. In the 11 months of receiving care from a doctor I spoke with her one time… ONE time. When pressing question I was continuously met with “we will check with Dr. Adam’s” or “this is protocol” I was never once given the opportunity to reevaluate our fertility plan or discuss concerns with the doctor supposedly directing my care and medicating me. As someone who works daily with providers I have never experience this kind of “gate keeping” behavior of a doctor and lack of communication between a provider and patient. I STRONGLY suggest seeking fertility care elsewhere as Portland has amazing fertility clinics with compassionate providers. As a new patient at a Portland clinic, I have already had 2 interactions with my new doctor in the 2 weeks as a new patient. Whereas with Kindbody I was met with one lackluster encounter with a provider treating me for almost a year.

Atrocious place. I have called this place more than 500 times because they kept saying Ive exhausted my benefits, and the policy states that I am still eligible for my 3rd cycle without a live birth. Their communication sucked and all the agents need to read through all the messages. I dont understand why they cant have a key note section showing important facts about patients, such as still eligible through third cycle etc. its extremely easy to do programmatically but they chose the old fashion way to make their patients suffer from the infinite loop of communication, or lack there of.

Unfortunately my first experience in my fertility search was here. Much like another review there was no tailored treatment plan. I was disregarded when explaining my PCOS, unnecessary appointments with no progress and 6 months of diagnostics before I even had a plan. The portal had incorrect instructions and information. Communication was poor. I should have known when I was explaining things to doctors that it wasn’t a good place. It very much seems like a money grab instead of helping women to conceive. I’m disappointed I didn’t go elsewhere.

The patient care was awful. The front staff never could find my account, it took weeks to consolidate my results and my husband’s results. Everything was plug and play, no tailoring of care to patients, absolutely no trauma informed training across every person I met including some truly awful nurses. Rude, dehumanizing, and my favorite was when the nurse said “what, your husband doesn’t care about you enough to be here” while I was waiting for a procedure. The doctor was condescending and lacked the ability for even basic active listening. The cherry on the sundae though was calling to pay a $250 bill only to be told it’s actually a $1700 bill. Couldn’t get an answer from the person on the phone as to why this happened. I will actively encourage people seeking reproductive healthcare to go to any other company.Edited it to add: the company reached out after I had a terrible experience with their financing partner in Dec 23 and then said they would follow up (never did) so I’m not gonna take you up on the disingenuous message of “concern” below. Kindbody only cares if the review is public.

Its frustrating how poorly this clinic works, the communication is horrible. They try to get multiple women to do IVF on the same day and they rush the process so much that it makes it extremely stressful. We have wasted a lot of money here. I now hope to be able to transfer my information and test results to another fertility clinic that actually takes their job seriously and wants to help people get pregnant.

I am getting very upset! The experience at the office itself was fine. We paid the total $100, and then they changed price later AFTER OUR APPOINTMENT to $200. So now we keep getting a bill to pay the rest, so another $100. I have talked to many people, all of them saying ok now it’s fixed you won’t get the bill anymore. They agreed that we don’t have to pay the extra $100 since the price was changed after. WE KEEP GETTING BILLS!! It is the biggest pain trying to get ahold of ANYONE on the phone so when I finally do and they say it’s fixed I expect it to be FIXED! You guys need to figure out your billing and phone system and get some better customer service. And don’t even try to reply and say “contact us at this number” I am not going to sit on hold for an hr so you can fix YOUR mistake. I expect you to call ME

UPDATE: I had my last IUI with them in February 2024. The pregnancy ended in April 2024 during a routine exam in their clinic. I just received a message from them, “Our records indicate that at that time you had achieved a pregnancy and were to follow up with your OB. We are checking in to see how things are going and if you have any updates for us!” How inept and insensitive can these people be?! If you bothered to scroll through my whole chart you would find the answer to your question without subjecting me to re-traumatization. These people cannot read a patient’s chart and have terrible bedside manner, especially considering the extra-sensitive nature of fertility struggles. PLEASE! Take your business elsewhere!I wish I could give them 0 stars. I echo everything else mentioned in other reviews. Communication and customer service is horrible. I have to reach out several times before I can connect with someone to schedule an appointment. Their current phlebotomist vein-shamed me after multiple attempts to get a blood draw. They are not LGBT sensitive as I’ve been insulted multiple times when the provider suggests timed intercourse during my cycle and I have to remind them every time that my partner does not produce sperm. Furthermore, I’ve noticed increased charges on my account. This clinic is more like a terrible business putting customers/patients last and instead focused on profiteering off people’s fertility struggles. Unfortunately, there’s no other options in Vancouver.

I just completed my second egg retrieval with Dr. Adams and the team. Throughout this very long process I have felt cared for, heard, and supported. The team has been extremely responsive when I have had questions. I have a very unique situation and the PGT team has spent so much time on the phone with my lab to do everything in their power to help with my pregnancy journey. I have so much confidence in Dr. Adams and I am excited for my next steps. Thank you to everyone that has helped with my care!!

UPDATE:Dr. Adams was great, but now that she is gone they have Dr. Westphal filling in and she is just...well, AWFUL!Honestly, after my first negative review the staff in clinic got much, much better. They really put in the work to turn things around. I appreciated it a lot. Now, back to Dr. Westphal - she should not be treating patients. Im sure she is a great scientist, but she was unengaged, and refused to treat me following the plan that Dr. Adams and team put together. It was very much giving the notion that she doesnt want to treat patients due to being based in California. To be fully transparent, my BMI is high and to be a patient, you need to get it to 45% I got to 43% and was ready to start and Dr. Westphal initially told me 40% which I felt like I could do. She then told my nurse that I needed to get to 30% - when my nurse (who is INCREDIBLE) had to break the news, she was upset and said she knew that was not the policy of Kindbody and didnt understand (she has since also left Kindbody).Maybe Im a sucker for good marketing, but I was so hopeful to have a #Kindbaby, and really wanted to make it work - wasting thousands of dollars to do so ( Im heartbroken). I will potentially explore visiting a nearby Kindbody (California, Denver) to look at a retrieval and transfer, but Dr. Westphal is a solid no for me. She might even have a race issue - according to a Black IVF group on FB with patients who also used Kindbody Palo Alto, at least three asked to be changed from Dr. Westphal due to her not treating them appropriately. Luckily they had success with Dr. Ekpo (2/3 ladies reported) in San Fran/Walnut Creek and Dr. Bendison (1/3 ladies reported) - another lady stopped altogether because her experience with Dr. Westphal was so traumatic.Alternatives:ORM was not a great experience for me. I had a really hard time managing their online systems. They also got all my vitals wrong with no explanation.I have a friend who switched from Kindbody to Spring Fertility after a bad experience with Dr. Westphal as well. They need to get her out of there. She is hurting the clinic and reputation of Kindbody.Assuming it is because she is working from California while they search for a new resident doctor and just doesnt want to travel to treat patients. That is what I got from her.Again, heartbroken and very disappointed in my experience at Kindbody. I get that Portland isnt a big market, but we deserve better than Dr. Westphal. Please fix it Kindbody!___________________________________________________________As a Black woman I really want this to work out with Dr. Adams! But the mistakes are already alarming and we haven’t even started the big stuff.Dr. Adams was great in the initial virtual appointment, but the staff have been hard to communicate with, and scheduling a follow up appointment has been horrible, no phone answering or call backs.I recently went for a blood draw for a genetics test and was told the wrong test was ordered. Now I’m required to pay for another test and blood draw on account of the clinics mistakes. Not to mention their nurses treated me like a pin cushion having to stick me 7+ times for the blood draw. So the experience seems minimal.I really, really want to give Dr. Adams a chance but this facility is seriously lacking in care and I feel going through this process will be more traumatic than just making a switch. Also forgot to mention that I was forced to stand outside in the pitch black dark, freezing cold because I was told to arrive 15-minutes before my appointment and the folks inside wouldn’t answer the phone nor door. With the lack of service and communication I feel it will become difficult to have trust and faith in this clinic as we get further down the line of things.New patients be warned.

Im leaving my old review down below but wanted to say DO NOT go to Kindbody for an egg retrieval. They currently do not have an RE (Dr. Adams was leaving at the end of August) and when I went to get my embryos moved to a new clinic I found out that Kindbody either did not complete necessary lab work or lost my records! Now I cant get other clinics to take my embryos! If anyone else is having this problem youre not alone. Legal action may be the next step- Im furious.I concur with all of the negative reviews, especially the lack of trauma informed care for those struggling with recurrent pregnancy loss. Communication was horrific with this clinic and in general Dr. Adams appeared irritated by my questions. But all of that being said we did complete two egg retrievals (one was really successful, the second one was not) and one embryo transfer that is now a beautiful 3 month old. We went here because it was the most convenient (going over to Portland for every other day lab draws and ultrasounds while working full-time is almost impossible) and at the time they were offering a great deal- if I had any other options in Vancouver I would opt for them due to all of the issues in the other comments, but if you’re like me and have limited other options I want you to know that I was successful here, and relatively quickly- so definitely not a ‘scam’ like some of the comments suggest- just horribly managed.

My spouse and I had our very first consultation in the June of 2023. Immediately it is clear that Dr. Adams is incredibly skilled and knowledgeable at her craft. Long story short life events came up that postponed our treatment, however, we’ve just had a very successful egg retrieval. Personally I haven’t had any issues with communication via the online portal. My clinical coordinator Heidi is absolutely astounding at responding to messages, sometimes even as quickly as within an hour. Anytime I have called and left a voicemail I have always heard back within the day. Perhaps new staff is helping some of the other mentioned issues but as stated Dr. Adams is wonderful, my coordinator Heidi, the NP’s Haley and Shannon, and last but not least Michelle who is a tech and a needle stick pro! We’re looking forward to our next phase of treatment to grow a family.

Summary: Poor communication, prescription mistakes, and traumatizing care. The staff never answers the phone (unless you’re calling as a new patient) and take days to respond to portal messages. They suddenly demanded payment during my pretreatment cycle and threatened to withhold care if a 23k payment wasn’t made by the next day. I really liked the physician which is why we stayed, but it continued to get worse. They made errors in my prescriptions and it required me being vigilant and calling/emailing several times before the mistake was fixed. The final straw was when they refused to let my partner join me (vaccinated and masked) for an ultrasound when the KindBody website clearly states masked partners are permitted. They don’t care about trauma informed care or helping to eliminate stress during invasive procedures. They couldn’t explain why their policy was different compared to the website and refused to make accommodations for my request, even after explaining I’ve experienced medical trauma after repetitive pregnancy losses. Lastly, it’s been over a month since I left and they still have not refunded my money. It took four emails to get an update and I was told that because of the large refund, it could take several more weeks. I moved to another local clinic and have had none of the same issues. If communication and caring are important to you, look elsewhere.

I came to Kindbody (formerly Vios) in Salmon Creek after being serviced by the larger Portland Oregon fertility clinics, and not liking the large clinic feel. I came around the time that Kindbody was acquiring Vios. Having worked at a company that went through an acquisition, it is a messy process with lots of growing pains. The clinic was clearly doing their best amongst the massive changes taking place and the assimilation into the new company software, protocols, etc. Once the dust settled, communication flowed very well. Use the portal, that is the best way to communicate with your care team. As far as care goes, I was extremely impressed with Dr. Adams and the team she has built. Everyone is kind and knowledgable. At the end of the day, they are professionals, and know what they are doing. After 4 years of infertility and through the mad skills of this team, I am currently pregnant. Thanks to Dr. Adams and all the nurses and care staff that helped make this dream a reality for me and my husband!

KindBody stands out as the singularly worst experience my wife and I have had in any healthcare setting in our lives. The callous and dehumanizing machinery theyve put together and call a fertility clinic is something that could have served as inspiration for a new Aldous Huxley novel. While I dont doubt Dr Adams competency, her bedside manner amounts to an auctioneer flippantly trying to cover test results, success probabilities and a treatment plan within 15 minutes because she was already 15 minutes late to the 30 minute meeting she scheduled with you.Fertility treatment is also a very time sensitive process, yet it seems the staff there is entirely unmotivated by temporal urgency. Treatment paths that require reacting within 24-72 hours of certain events can take up to a week to get a response on the portal. The responses tend to be terse to the point of being unhelpful, and asking for clarification only creates more delay.Their phone system is designed to prevent you from talking to a human being entirely unless its about billing. In my experience, even if you get through to a human, its a nationwide system and the person you reach may be clueless. In my experience I was routed to someone in Chicago who comically asked me if I was sure I was even a KindBody patient. Im not sure what alternate reality he lives in where people frequently spend an hour on hold to speak to a clinic theyve never visited. While we abandoned pursuing any form of treatment with KindBody, one of the more pernicious communications came unsolicited a few months later: a Black Friday sale on their services. Thats right, Black Friday: Americas monument to materialistic blood lust. Perhaps they like to see their clients line up at 4am for egg retrieval alongside Walmart customers seeking $1 surge protectors and buy-two-get-one TV series box sets.Ultimately, KindBody is the closest thing you could get to a drive thru level experience when it comes to the most consequential journey of your life. Their goal is simply to take your money and as much as they can while investing as little time as possible in you.

My entire experience felt like I was in an episode of Curb your enthusiasm. They never got my referral. I had it resent. Then played phone tag until finally I was able to schedule. the lady who I did eventually speak with on the phone with was great. Why is it called the Portland office but its located in salmon creek area of Vancouver? Last i checked Vancouver is not Portland. That alone was confusing. your appt is at our Portland office? where is it in Portland? oh its in salmon creek LOL then had to fill out what felt like 6 forms, create and ACC and jump through hoops on their website. Just to give my sample over. i get there and they have freshly waxed smooth floors and a cloth rug with no sort of anti slip backing and i slipped and almost fell into their couch. front desk lady then ask for payment and i asked if my insurance covered it? she said i didnt upload it in to their portal. so i hand her my insurance card and she asked me to take it and me upload it into the portal myself. LOL i insisted she take it and she do it after she asked if it was took difficult for me she could do it. I dont work for kind body nor am I making my customers jump through hoops in their weird and arduous check in process just for a simple drop off. Also i dont remember what my user name of log in is b/c i used it once and forgot it all like whyyyyyy? is everything so unnecessarily overly difficult. so then you just sit there are stare at a picture of a bicycle with orange slices for wheels awkwardly until they call you back. They then ask you verify numbers on the labels which none of them mean anything to me besides my date of birth and name. Date of birth was wrong but no big deal we moved forward. go back to the front and ask if my insurance covered it or will they call me to pay for it? she lets me know they wont call me for results. i get that but i was asking about payment to make sure i was good to go. every step of the process was like pulling teeth. when i had the same semen analysis done at Kaiser it was simple easy and painless. So future reference if your insurance allows you to use Kaiser go to Kaiser. the Kaiser office in Vancouver off mill plain and not the Kaiser Portland office in Vancouver LOL- Kyle Anson aka Larry David for a day.

Very unfortunate lack of communication, lack of willingness to discuss almost anything, and extremely confusing user portal. If I was in a relationship with this person, I would categorize them as avoidant. They almost never pick up the phone. Dr. Adams was great on the singular virtual zoom I had with her last year which is why I chose to work with her, then I never saw or spoke with her again. She needs either more staff, new staff, or a new way to communicate with her patients. A simple request for records to be sent to me has taken over a month, six+ requests from my end, plus mention of a lawyer, and I still dont have the results Ive been asking for in my inbox. Im looking elsewhere due to the insanely frustrating experience, which is unfortunate because I was really impressed by the doctor herself

And of course as predicted, I received no emails, no calls, no portal messages. I haven’t heard anything from them since that day. Nothing was resolved, I’m still getting bills for visits that I shouldn’t be paying for. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.The lone star Im giving is for Dr. Adams, who, in the single 40 minute session we had together, was knowledgeable and nice (albeit rushed, due to technology issues, which shouldve been the first red flag). The rest of the experience was unprofessional, uncommunicative, traumatizing, full of mistakes, an accounting nightmare, and an emotional rollercoaster. Their front desk person was nonexistent, their portal is a joke, their accounting team is inexperienced and useless, and their nurses are overworked. I had sent complaints up the food chain at their organization repeatedly, received 1 single call from someone who apologized and said I had fallen through the cracks, and that shed be with me every step of the way going forward. I never heard from her again. Based on these other reviews, it seems like the crack I fell down was far and wide, and took down many others simultaneously. Our experience was so hideous, that when were days away from scheduling IUI with Kindbody, my husband finally put the kibosh on it. He couldnt handle how we had been treated by them, so we chose to wait SIX months to see another doctor, instead of moving forward with them.If youre looking for a kind, compassionate, responsive, educated, caring team for your fertility needs, look elsewhere.

On top of this they have not responded to any requests we have made regarding getting copies of our lab and blood work so this lack of response from their accounts side has soured us on what can be a stressful process. No one ever answers the phone. I just get voicemails and runaround in circles. You’d think the least they could do was take a payment. I just want to be DONE. Do not work with them. The stress is not worth it.Overall pretty disappointed…I had high hopes but I feel that the communication is not good. It is very hard to get answers to your questions. I had to reach out so many times to get responses. I felt that I was always having to ask what was next and felt confused most of the time. Additionally, both my husband and I felt mislead on what was included in the diagnostic package and we felt a lot of pressure to schedule things immediately. The initial cost that we were told was $600 which we were very happy with but very quickly that number doubled because we didn’t realize things weren’t included. We listened so attentively and took notes during our consultation and we really thought we understood what was included. We didn’t. Now here I am ready to be done with this clinic and can’t even figure out how to pay my bill. When I go to the website listed on my statement, this location isn’t listed. Then when I go to my portal it shows I owe $0 even though I received a $600 bill in the mail. There just seems to be a lot of issues and hiccups with this clinic. It is frustrating and stressful and infertility is already such a painful and stressful experience that it is difficult to add these other stressors. Stress doesn’t help when trying to conceive!
